Venture into the heart of two of Zimbabwe's contrasting wildlife habitats, witnessing African wildlife in its natural environment. From the plains and mopane forests of Hwange to the waters of Lake Kariba, we will enjoy safaris in multiple ways - on game drives, walks and by boat. Try your hand at fishing and learn about the Triassic era fossils found at Musango.

A Majestic Beginning at Victoria Falls

  • Our adventure begins at the breathtaking Victoria Falls, a place where the Zambezi River plunges dramatically into a chasm, creating a natural spectacle like no other. Here, we’ll indulge in the luxury of the Palm River Hotel, nestled along the serene banks of the iconic river. Get ready to immerse yourself in the beauty and thrill of Africa right from the start!

Safari Highlights:

  • Hwange National Park: Bigger than the Serengeti but with far lower visitor numbers, it is likely we will spend most of our safari without seeing other vehicles except those from the lodge you are staying at—an exclusive experience indeed! Hwange is home to approximately 46 000 elephants – there are more elephants than guests visiting Hwange National Park in a year! It is also one of the best parks in Africa for diversity of wildlife with populations of sable, cheetah, wild dog, and lion. We will stay for 3 nights at my favourite camp in Africa – Bomani Tented Lodge by Imvelo Safari Lodges
  • Lake Kariba: The world’s largest man-made lake on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia. Lake Kariba attracts large numbers of elephants and other big game species. The presence of water draws these animals to the lake’s shores, and witnessing herds of elephants gathering near the water’s edge or bathing in the shallows of the lake is something you’ll never forget. There are also over 400 species of birds and tiger fishing on Lake Kariba is a must-do. We will stay for 4 nights at Musango – a stunning island camp run by a living legend among guides, Steve Edwards
  • Visit community projects and schools helped by both camps that are directly supported by your safari spend and learn just how vital the assistance offered is to the local area
  • Optional white rhino sanctuary visit: Imvelo have reintroduced these majestic animals to Hwange – a momentous achievement for the park. Tour the sanctuary headquarters and meet the Community Wildlife Protection scouts on duty that day. Spend time on foot with the rhino and the Cobra Rangers guarding them 24/7 – lots of photo opportunities and quality time to watch and enjoy white rhino in their new home on the Ngamo plains.

Absolutely. Your safety is my top priority. The most highly-qualified and experienced guides in Africa and camp staff ensure a secure and enjoyable experience. Zimbabwe is known for its welcoming locals, making it a safe destination for safari adventurers.

What kind of wildlife can we expect to see?

Zimbabwe’s wilderness is rich in biodiversity. While wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, we’re likely to see a variety of animals such as elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, wild dog and an abundance of bird species. Our expert guides are skilled at tracking wildlife and will endeavour to provide us with the best possible sightings.

How physically demanding is the safari?

The safari is designed to accommodate a range of physical abilities. Most wildlife viewing is done from vehicles, and the walking is optional but manageable for most fitness levels. If you need detailed information just call me.

What Is the accommodation like?

We stay in two carefully selected camps that offer comfort and authenticity and allow for a more personal experience with nature. They provide all the necessary amenities while maintaining an authentic safari atmosphere.

Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?

Certainly. We can cater to most dietary requirements. Please let me know of any specific needs or restrictions in advance, and Ill ensure your dietary needs are met with delicious meal options.

What should I pack?

I’ll provide you with a comprehensive packing list, but essentials include light, comfortable clothing, a good pair of binoculars, a camera, sun protection, and a sense of adventure! It’s important to pack light but also be prepared for varying temperatures.
