Walk the highest sand dunes in the world in the Namib Desert; see the wild animals of Etosha National Park, and relax along the Okavango, Kwando and Chobe Rivers. Day 1

The afternoon in Windhoek is free to explore the capital city of Namibia. Today you will not be meeting your Kiboko guide or vehicle. You will be on your own arrangements today and will be transferred to your guide tomorrow morning at 10h00. Overnight Hotel Safari (or similar accommodation). (Accommodated – dinner own account)

Day 2 – 3

Distance: 370kms (5hrs)

Clients are met at the reception at 10h00 and they are transferred to our accommodation located on the edge of the Namib Desert where they meet their Kiboko guide and truck. The following morning is an early departure for Sossusvlei, stopping in the dune belt to witness the changing colours of the world’s highest sand dunes. We undertake a 5km walk to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. In the afternoon we enjoy a short hike through the Sesriem Canyon. Overnight Desert Quiver Camp (or similar).

Day 4 – 5

Distance: 380kms (6hrs)

We reach the coast at Walvis Bay and enjoy lunch while viewing the many flamingos feeding. We arrive in Swakopmund and spend the afternoon and following day exploring this German colonial town or booking one of the numerous optional excursions (own expense). Activities available include dolphin cruises or scenic flights over the vast Namib Desert. Overnight The Delight (or similar accommodation). (Accommodated – B. Dinners own account)

Day 6

Distance: 38Okms (6hrs)

We drive through the Damaraland region with its vast and rugged terrain. Its mountain ranges are intercepted by wide gravel plains, which run into sandy, vegetated riverbeds and hot, dry valleys. Our lodge is located on top of a mountain with spectacular views of the surrounding area. Spend the afternoon taking in the incredible setting or simply relaxing by the pool. Day 7

Distance: 200kms (3hrs)

Today we proceed to Etosha National Park where we enjoy our first game drive in open 4×4 game drive vehicles from our lodge situated just outside the park entrance. The park’s main characteristic is a salt pan so large it can be seen from space. Yet there is abundant wildlife that congregates around the waterholes. Overnight Etosha village (or similar accommodation). (Accommodated – B & D)

Day 8

Distance: 150kms

This Park is one of the most important reserves and game sanctuaries in Africa with thousands of wild animals such as blue wildebeest, springbok, zebra, kudu, giraffe, cheetah, leopard, lion and elephant making this area their home. The day is spent on game drive through the Park from the Western to the Eastern side of the Park. Overnight Mokuti Lodge (or similar accommodation).

Day 9

Distance: 420kms (6hrs)

We depart Etosha and enter the Caprivi Strip where we spend the night set amongst the lush vegetation overlooking the Okavango River and Angola. An optional afternoon boat cruise on the river is available (own account). Overnight Hakusembe River Lodge (or similar accommodation). (Accommodated – B & D)

Day 10 – 11

Distance: 300kms (4hrs)

Continuing into the Caprivi we cross into Botswana and travel by road to our lodge on the edge of the Okavango Delta. The following day we travel by boat 30 minutes into the delta. We do mokoro & boat excursions in the back channels of the Nxamasire area of the delta. Game walks are also done on the smaller islands in the area subject to the water levels of the delta.

Day 12

Distance : 350kms (5hrs)

Departing the Delta we cross back into Namibia. We continue to the Eastern side of the Caprivi Strip and arrive at our lodge overlooking the flood plains of the Kwando River. There is an opportunity for a late afternoon game drive in the Kwando Flood Plains (own account). Overnight Namushasha River Lodge (or similar accommodation). (Accommodated – B & D)

Day 13 – 14

Distance: 300kms (5hrs)

Crossing into Botswana via the Chobe National Park we overnight on the banks of the Chobe River. Chobe is famous for its beautiful scenery, magnificent sunsets and abundance of wildlife and birdlife. We relax on a sunset game viewing cruise on the Chobe River. Optional morning Game Drive (own account). Overnight Chobe Safari Lodge (or similar). (Accommodated – B & D)

Day 15

Distance: 100kms (3hrs)

We travel across the Zimbabwean border to Victoria Falls – without doubt one of the greatest and most spectacular sights in Africa. The afternoon and following morning are spent at leisure to browse the local markets, to experience the many optional activities on offer in the adrenalin capital of Africa including helicopter flights over the Falls, and to visit the Falls (own expense).
