A: A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required to secure a booking.

A: The easiest method is bank transfer from your account or via TransferWise which is a low-cost transfer company that allows you to pay via credit or debit card. Payments are made into the PTS trust account with HSBC bank in London as required by the package tour regulations.

A: Absolutely. The Grown-up Travel Company is member number 5360 of Protected Trust Services. All payments you make to us are actually made to a trust account administered by PTS to which we do not have access. PTS ensures that our partners are paid and any profit is only transferred to us when you have completed your trip. In the unlikely event that our company or any of our suppliers were to fail your money will be refunded as per the Package Travel Regulations with later revisions. This system also ensures compliance with the Norwegian regulations as an alternative to Reisegarantifondet. Your money is fully protected at all times.

A:The balance is due 56 days (8 weeks) prior to departure, unless you book less than 56 days before departure, when the balance must be paid in full at the time of booking.

A: No, but an ATOL licence is only required by companies selling air travel packages

A: No, but we can provide advice and help search for flights.

A: Yes, you will be required to provide details of your travel insurance policy when booking. If you suffer sickness or injury during the trip, most hospitals will refuse treatment without advance payment or proof of insurance covering medical care.

A: It depends upon the countries to be visited. We can provide general information for each destination, but you should consult a health professional for advice regarding your specific itinerary.

Malaria is widespread in many areas and we highly recommend that you take preventive medication in addition to using repellent and covering up in the evenings. Having had malaria three times in the past, Andy can attest to it being worth avoiding if possible…

A: Almost always, but there are exceptions and the process varies from country to country. We will provide the latest information in your itinerary and on this website.

A: Each passenger is limited to one soft-sided bag, weighing no more than 12 kg plus a typical size camera bag.

A: Not usually, but it may be difficult in more remote areas with limited resources. Let us know any dietary requirements when making an enquiry and we will do our best to accommodate you.

A: Tipping is purely discretionary, however if you would like to show your appreciation to lodge staff we recommend $10 – $20 per guest per day, paid in the communal tip box at reception.
